О двух “вычислительных вольностях”, огорчающих логика

Soft computing is not a calculation where it is possible to neglect the laws of logic. Two problems are discussed in the article: application of probability theory and Zadeh theory during the task solution and logical-probabilistic method where the algebra of propositional logic and probability theory are combined. In the first case there is an inconsistency in basic assumptions (the law of consistency is broken). In the second case the law of consistency is broken and the subject of theory is changed whereas the theory itself is kept (law of identity is broken). Ascertainment of both the logical inconsistency of the theory and infringement of the law of identity overturns the theory without any further arguments.

The theme that was begun at the conference on soft computing in 1999 is been continued in this article. Three motives of research are considered. The first of them is an intention to formalize logic, which would be possible to apply for decision making under conditions of uncertainty. The second one is to develop the continuous-valued logic with properties of classical mathematical propositional calculus. The third motive is to develop a formal theory that is similar to probability theory but application of such theory does not demand the fulfillment of strict requirements, which are necessary for correct application of probability theory.

Method of quantitative assessment of degree of possibility of event realization is considered in the report. Antonyms logic, that was considered at the previous conferences on soft computing, laid in the basic of the method. The modus ponens rule was a point of departure when method of assessment of event possibility was developed.

В науке, как и в повседневной жизни, умственные операции не совершаются по правилам логики, а доказательству всегда предшествует представление некоторой истины, содержание какого-нибудь процесса или причины явления; вы не приходите к заключительному выводу от предпосылок, а, наоборот, этот вывод им предшествует, предпосылки же его только впоследствии разыскиваются как доказательства.
